We R Stardust

Copper is not a metal that is commonly used or even thought of when it comes to jewelry. We're more used to wearing metal, silver or gold. So I did a little bit of research and I was nicely surprised of all the benefits to it as well.

You might wonder if copper is safe to wear. The answer is YES, it is safe to wear and it would not harm your skin in any way.

Copper is an antimicrobial, which means it stops the growth of micro-organisms such as bacteria, protozoa, fungi, or viruses! Overall, copper also can kill these micro-organisms. For thousands of years and even now, copper has been used as part of treatment for wounds and skin diseases. That is thanks to its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that it has.

So anyone who now is as fascinated by copper as I am, and appreciates one-of-a-kind or limited edition items would appreciate what artisan and craftswoman Christine McDonald is offering in her shop.

The jewelry is made using electroforming. Which is a metal plating process that takes anywhere from 24-48 hours to complete. Each piece is then patinaed and polished to add further depth and bring out texture and detail.

I love how every We R Stardust piece is so interesting, like it has a story, Christine really does an amazing job with this. I've never had a jewelry that was made with copper I wasn't sure if I could pull off wearing a copper necklace but I was sure I wanted to try! So the moment I've received my beautiful necklace from We R Stardust and wore it with my winter leather jacket I knew I'm going to love it! It complimented my outfit so well.

It feels great to wear something so original and handmade in Canada. Love the details on the little copper cactus, like the Moonstone crescent moon and “southwestern” style stamped markings.
