My city...

Moving to a new city can be exciting but it can also be challenging. I moved to Vancouver 5 years ago and I have to admit I was more excited than afraid when I moved here. Of course there was a research that had to be done before choosing to come to Vancouver, like weighing all the options, consulting with people who has been to Vancouver and so on.

Moving to a new place can be tough, cause that means leaving behind the city that housed a lot of memories, good or bad, memories that shaped your way of living and thinking...

Nowadays i's not complicated to just pack up your stuff and leave. In this digital era we're living, it's easy to find a job anywhere you go, or work from home, so we worry less about moving to a new place. Vancouver is definitely a good place to start exploring whether or not you want to be a citizen of the world. People are open-minded, communities are strong.

Ever since I started Ellen Finds I've met so many inspiring people, entrepreneurs, artists, business owners that are down-to-earth, open to the ideas of contributing to the community, people who seem to be extremely busy but always find time to help out and support fellow entrepreneurs.

I lived in so many places all around Europe and U.S. and I can finally say I am happy in the place I am today. Vancouver is my home, it's my city. I am here to create new goals and be a part of this city. I’m happy and inspired by good citizens, people who contribute to their communities.

I encourage everyone to support local businesses. Because supporting local means that you care about the community that you live in. You give them a chance to thrive and you respect that they're getting out there everyday and trying their best to make an honest living even against all of the competition out there.

MYCITY is such a great example of giving back and contributing to the community.

They have created a clothing company that gives back to the community. MYCITY Apparel gives 100% of its net proceeds back into the community through charitable events, donations and collaborations. Their slogan is “Give Where You Live”. It's such an amazing idea!

Moreover their apparel is so comfy, amazing quality, fits great. I love wearing my sweatshirt!

You can find all their designs here:

Support local, be proud of the city you live in!
