Hello, I'm Lithuanian

Updated: Nov 8, 2020

Just a little background about myself

I am born and raised Lithuanian. Lithuania is a country in northeastern Europe. It's also a part of Baltic regions. It's very well situated along the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Lithuania is not a large country. It has a total area of 25,212 square miles. Population - 2.794 million people.

This comes as a surprise to people quite a lot, but in Lithuania the official language is Lithuanian :) So yes, we do have a language and it's the oldest surviving Indo-European language, which has preserved the most phonetical and morphological aspects of the proto-language which many other European languages come from.

If you meet a Lithuanian tell him "Labas" to say hello, and Ačiū (pron. achoo, yeah, like the sneeze.) to say thank you! :)

I lived in Lithuania all my life until one day I decided to see the world. I stripped away everything I knew, I made a plan to work in Vancouver, Canada for one year, picked up and left.

It was the best decision I've ever made, It has been 5 years I am here and I have never felt more alive.

Now that you what is Lithuania and where it is, I would like to tell you about this Lithuanian brand that makes astonishing things. In their online store, you can find tote bags, backpacks, interior design items, face masks and more. You can check out their online store HERE.

Their products are featuring printed work from famous artists and more, and today I would like to share with you all two tote bags I've received from Pitex.

Both of them have paintings of M.K.Ciurlionis printed on them.

Who was M.K.Čiurlionis?

M.K. Čiurlionis is considered to be the founder of Lithuanian modern art and he was as such the cultural emblem of independent Lithuania (1918-1940). Yet his work remains little-known in France: it is exhibited for the first time at the Musée d'Orsay. Čiurlionis is considered one of the pioneers of abstract painting. He was also a poet and a composer.

Listen to his composition "In The Forest" here.

Now let's go back to Pitex :)

This first tote bag has M.K.Čiurlionis painting called "Fairy Tale of Kings" printed on it. It's a high quality velvet bag, has a zipper. Whether spending a day in jeans and a cardigan or suiting up for the office, this tote bag is perfect for the versatile wardrobe. I know it's perfect for a fall season in Vancouver :)

Second bag will compliment any fall outfit. When you are lucky enough to find the ideal bag in this honey-brown tone, you’ll want to carry it with everything. It has a painting called "Angel (Angel prelude)" printed on it.

The inside of both of these tote bags have a nice touch added - a signature of M.K.Čiurlionis.

These bags are definitely something you would want on your shoulder, plus you could tell a great story when someone asks you to explain what's printed on it. A mysterious looking sort of tote bag with a vintage look and feel.
