Ellenfinds Creative Media
Last updated: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ellenfinds Creative Media ("Ellenfinds", "we", "us" or "our"), a photography, video and content creation studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia, collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. It applies to this website and to the services we provide to clients. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, book a shoot or become a client, we may collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, billing details, project details and anything else you choose to share in your message.

Photos and video. Our work involves photographing and filming people, products and places. Images and footage in which a person can be identified may be personal information.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site (hosted on Wix) uses cookies and similar technologies to collect basic technical information such as your browser type, device, IP address, pages visited and the time of your visit. This helps the site function and lets us understand how it is used.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information only for reasonable purposes that we explain to you, including to: respond to enquiries; quote, plan, deliver and invoice our services; communicate with you about your project; deliver final images and video; maintain business and tax records; improve our website and services; and, with your consent, send you occasional updates. We do not sell or rent personal information.

3. Consent

We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. By contacting us or using our services, you consent to the uses described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. If you withdraw consent, we may be unable to provide some services.

4. People in our photos and videos

Where people appear in our work, we ask clients to obtain any consents or releases needed from the people photographed, unless we have agreed in writing to obtain them ourselves. We only feature identifiable people in our portfolio, website or social media where we have permission to do so. If you appear in our work and would like an image removed from our website or social channels, email us and we will review your request promptly. Minors are photographed only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

5. Sharing your information

We share personal information only as needed to run our business, for example with service providers that host our website (Wix), process payments, send email, store files, or help with editing and accounting. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us. Some of them store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country and accessible to its authorities. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law.

6. Email marketing

We send promotional or newsletter emails only with your consent, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also opt out at any time by emailing us.

7. Cookies

You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Some parts of the website may not work properly without them. For details on the cookies used by our website platform, see Wix's cookie policy.

8. Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required for legal, tax or accounting reasons, and then securely delete or destroy it. Client image files may be archived for a limited period so we can help with re-delivery requests. We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a privacy breach occurs, we will notify affected individuals and authorities as required by law.

9. Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used or disclosed, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. Send your request in writing to the contact below. We will respond within the time required by law, generally within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and in limited cases the law allows or requires us to refuse access.

10. Children

This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
